Book Club Leader

Role Overview

The Book Club Leader is tasked with facilitating monthly book club sessions, selecting suitable books for different age groups, and designing lessons that nurture a passion for reading, literacy, and writing skills among participants. This role involves active participation in planning meetings conducted at the beginning, middle, and end of the year.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly book club meetings effectively to engage participants.
• Choose books that are age-appropriate and appealing to the group.
• Develop educational lesson plans that enhance literacy, writing, and reading enthusiasm.
• Create an inclusive and supportive group environment where every participant feels heard and valued.
• Participate punctually in planning meetings held three times a year to coordinate activities and goals.
• Work collaboratively as a team member to support the success of the book club.

Qualifications and Skills

• Background in working with children is highly beneficial.
• Experience designing and implementing educational lessons is a plus.
• Strong punctuality and reliability must be demonstrated.
• Ability to foster a positive and inclusive group culture.

Compensation

This position offers a stipend of $50 per month for facilitating the book club sessions.
