Your work will directly support better AI model performance by ensuring biology training data is accurate, well-reasoned, clearly explained, safety-aware, and aligned with client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Review biology tasks at random intervals, identify quality issues, and share corrective feedback through direct messages while escalating serious or repeated problems.
• Check AI-generated biology explanations, mechanisms, experimental reasoning, genetics exercises, diagrams, descriptions, terminology, and solution steps for scientific accuracy and clarity.
• Keep trainers and QAs informed on Discord about guideline updates, workflow changes, quality expectations, and biology-specific review standards.
• Answer trainer and QA questions promptly and clearly, especially on biological reasoning, methods, terminology, experimental design, safety concerns, scientific claims, and rubric interpretation.
• Reach out to inactive or underperforming contributors, encourage them to resume work, track follow-ups, and surface availability concerns when necessary.
• Develop and maintain project materials such as style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding resources.
• Plan and facilitate onboarding or training sessions for trainers and QAs so they understand expectations, workflows, rubrics, quality standards, and biology review requirements.
• Make sure trainers and QAs apply biology guidelines consistently and stay aligned as the project evolves.
• Flag risky, misleading, or overly confident biology guidance, particularly when it involves lab procedures, biological samples, pathogens, genetic engineering, health claims, environmental impact, or biosafety.
• Look for repeated quality weaknesses, recommend process improvements, and help design scalable QA workflows for biology AI training projects.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, Neuroscience, Physiology, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong command of English so you can interpret project instructions, coordinate with teams, and provide precise scientific feedback.
• At least 3 years of professional background in biology research, lab work, teaching, scientific writing, technical review, quality control, biotechnology, life sciences, or a similar workflow.
• Solid knowledge of core biology areas including cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, anatomy, developmental biology, and experimental design.
• Ability to judge biology content against detailed rubrics and spot wrong assumptions, weak experimental logic, inaccurate terms, missing context, unsafe advice, fabricated facts, incomplete answers, or misleading scientific statements.
• Preferred familiarity with biology tools and workflows such as lab documentation, microscopy, PCR/qPCR, sequencing, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, ELISA, basic bioinformatics, statistical interpretation, safety data sheets, and scientific literature review.
• Strong preference for candidates who have led or supported remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, researchers, technical writers, educators, or QAs.
• Comfort working in fast-paced remote setups with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management tools.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail, including the ability to manage style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding content, honeypots, calibration tasks, and other quality documentation.
• Prior exposure to AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt or response evaluation, scientific content QA, or rubric-based LLM evaluation is a strong advantage.
