Job description
Role overview
This remote part-time contract opportunity is for a PhD-level biology specialist who can help improve the safety and reliability of advanced language models in life-science topics. The work centers on creating expert prompts and reviewing AI responses across a wide range of biological disciplines.
What you will do
- Develop advanced prompts covering molecular biology, microbiology, virology, genetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, immunology, and related subject areas.
- Assess model answers for scientific accuracy, usefulness, and careful handling of sensitive material.
- Review, label, and evaluate responses using structured quality frameworks so that prompts and conversations are classified consistently.
- Apply strong judgment when dealing with biosafety, biosecurity, pathogen-related subjects, and dual-use information.
Working setup
The engagement is fully remote and part-time, typically 15 to 25 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing up to 40 hours weekly depending on availability and project demand. The start is immediate, and future work may continue based on performance and ongoing project needs. Payments are made weekly through Stripe or Wise.
Requirements
- You should hold a PhD in Biology or be currently pursuing one, or have a closely related life-science background.
- You must be able to write strong prompts and technical scenarios across specialized biological topics.
- You need to review and judge model outputs for correctness and overall quality.
- Clear scientific reasoning, technical writing ability, and professional communication in English are essential.
- Experience in laboratory work, computational biology, research, scientific review, grading, or similar technical evaluation tasks is preferred.
- No prior experience in model evaluation is necessary, as training will be provided.
Additional information
This is an independent contractor arrangement. The role is intended for someone who can work with care on complex science content and maintain high standards while evaluating potentially sensitive biological topics.
