Job description

Role overview

This full-time Batcher/Plant Operator position at the Bega concrete plant sits at the centre of daily production. The role focuses on keeping batching operations running reliably, producing concrete to specification, supporting plant efficiency, and stepping in wherever needed across the site.

What you will do

  • Prepare concrete orders accurately using the correct mix designs and dedicated batching software and systems.
  • Operate a front-end loader safely to measure and move materials needed for batching.
  • Handle routine site administration, including raw material stock tracking and preparing monthly forecasts.
  • Take part in safety practices such as pre-start checks, toolbox talks, and reporting incidents.
  • Carry out general yard tidiness, housekeeping, and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Support other plant duties as required in a fast-paced operational setting.

What the employer is looking for

  • Previous exposure to concrete work or a good working knowledge of the concrete industry.
  • Confidence using computers, multiple systems, and safety reporting tools.
  • Willingness to take on a broad range of tasks across the plant.
  • Ability to work from other concrete sites when needed.
  • Experience operating front-end loaders, forklifts, or working in a safety-critical environment is valued.
  • A heavy rigid truck licence would be an advantage.

What is offered

  • A permanent, full-time role with overtime available.
  • A monthly rostered day off, equivalent to 13 extra paid days each year.
  • Access to support resources, including an employee assistance program.
  • A workplace culture built around safety, care, support, and continuous development.
  • Opportunities to build a long-term career within the business.
