Job Summary
We are expanding rapidly and seek a dedicated team-oriented individual to manage and operate youth basketball tournaments and showcases across the country. As a Basketball Showcase Director, you will lead event planning and execution, serving as the primary representative of our events team and ensuring exceptional tournament experiences for players and teams. Utilizing provided tools, training, and resources, you will deliver professional events nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Oversee full event execution including setup, participant check-in, event flow, and staff supervision.
- Coordinate with the coaching staff onsite to deliver excellent experiences for attendees.
- Collaborate with the headquarters event team prior to events to organize logistics and preparation checklists.
- Maintain clear communication channels with all event personnel such as facility contacts, check-in staff, coaches, and officials.
- Think quickly and adapt to dynamic situations on event days to resolve issues efficiently.
- Address groups of 50 to 300 players and parents with motivational speeches and clear communication.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must currently be or have formerly been a basketball coach with a genuine passion for the sport.
- Highly organized with proven multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Experienced in managing sports events or camps involving 50-300 participants and coordinating teams of coaches.
- Strong decision-maker with the ability to handle pressure and solve problems immediately.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Leadership experience managing groups of 10 or more people.
- Proficiency in Google Apps including Docs and Sheets.
Compensation and Perks
- Directors earn $530 for one event and $860 for two events, with all related expenses such as rental cars, hotels, meals, and gas reimbursed by Prep Network.
- Opportunity to watch top-tier athletes who frequently progress to collegiate-level play.
- Flexible working schedule, with events largely occurring on weekends from August through October, allowing directors to choose local or travel assignments and preferred dates.
