Job description

Role Overview

In this position, you will support the Six Senses Amaala vision of helping people reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the world around them. The role is rooted in the brand’s principles of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring service, playful individuality, pioneering wellness, and a strong focus on sustainability, wellness, and memorable experiences.

Key Duties

  • Welcome guests promptly and warmly, using their names whenever possible.
  • Answer outlet telephone calls politely and efficiently in line with departmental standards.
  • Help monitor the outlet budget and keep costs under tight control to support profitability.
  • Encourage coffee and tea sales by guiding guests on blends, brewing methods, grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and related supplies.
  • Keep signage and display materials current and well presented.
  • Maintain excellent personal grooming, appearance, and hygiene at all times.
  • Follow all safety, security, and emergency procedures relevant to the role, as required by brand and statutory standards.
  • Ensure all departmental equipment remains clean and in proper working condition.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as needed.
  • Follow LQA standards strictly and consistently.

Qualifications and Experience

This role calls for a candidate with the right technical skills, professional experience, and qualifications for a luxury hospitality setting. A hospitality diploma or degree from a recognized hospitality or barista school is required, along with more than one year of experience in a similar operational role. You should have hands-on experience in coffee and tea brewing, together with an understanding of the full production process from cultivation to the final beverage. Knowledge of different coffee and tea types, as well as the roasting process, is expected.

Technical Knowledge

The position also requires familiarity with food and beverage terminology, service operations, costing, menu development, hygiene standards, and inventory control. Advanced MS Office skills are needed, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. You should also be comfortable using hotel systems, including MICROS or other point-of-sale platforms, and understand hotel and resort policies related to discounts and food promotions.

Language and Other Notes

Fluency in English is essential. The role summary is meant to give an overview of the responsibilities and requirements, but it is not a complete list of every duty associated with the position. The employer is an equal opportunity organization, and this principle applies to all terms and conditions of employment. Candidates who may not meet every requirement but still feel strongly aligned with the role are encouraged to apply.
