Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and meticulous Barista to become an integral part of our team in Umluj. This position requires delivering outstanding customer service while expertly preparing specialty coffee beverages. You will flourish in a team-oriented atmosphere, sharing our dedication to quality, professionalism, and inclusive hospitality to help create unforgettable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Skillfully prepare and serve specialty coffee drinks consistently, demonstrating proficiency with espresso machines and brewing techniques.
• Provide courteous, engaging, and professional service ensuring guests’ needs are anticipated and surpassed.
• Offer knowledgeable advice on menu selections, ingredients, and preparation styles with a friendly approach.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, operate POS systems, and maintain precise financial records.
• Keep the work area and café clean, well-organized, and compliant with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform opening and closing duties including equipment setup, inventory assessments, and general preparation.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to maintain smooth workflow during busy and slower periods.
• Create appealing product displays and attract customers through informed recommendations.
• Adapt to changing priorities and undertake additional tasks as needed to support operational requirements.
• Consistently embody the brand’s values and commitment to guest satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in food & beverage or retail sectors within the last two years.
• Proven barista experience with demonstrated competence in advanced specialty coffee preparation.
• Expertise in operating espresso machines, grinders, and café equipment.
• Strong cash handling abilities and familiarity with POS systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-centered attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while paying close attention to detail.
• Physical capability to stand for long hours and perform repetitive tasks.
• Awareness and adherence to food safety and hygiene guidelines.
• Flexibility to work diverse shifts including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in beverage service such as Pro Serve or equivalent.
• Formal training or certification as a specialty coffee barista.
• Experience within luxury hospitality or upscale café environments.
• Multilingual skills, especially proficiency in Arabic.
• Knowledge of inventory control and stock rotation processes.
• Ability to perform latte art and advanced coffee presentations.
• Experience working in multicultural and diverse team settings.
