Job description
Role overview
This position is based at The Old Market House in Brixham, overlooking Brixham Harbour and the port. The venue is a contemporary pub that welcomes both local guests and visitors all year round, with views of the harbour, fishing fleet, Tall Ships, and regular maritime activity.
You’ll be part of a lively, fast-moving environment where teamwork and guest experience matter. The role is suited to someone who enjoys meeting people, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and helping deliver memorable visits rather than simply serving food and drinks.
What you’ll do
- Support the bar and waiting operation in a busy front-of-house setting.
- Build friendly relationships with regular guests and help make each visit enjoyable.
- Help keep service smooth and coordinated across the front of house.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the area.
What the team is like
- The team is focused on giving every guest a warm, positive welcome.
- They take pride in keeping the pub clean, tidy, and ready for service.
- They play an important part in making front-of-house service run efficiently.
Benefits and rewards
- 30% discount on food and drinks.
- 50% off overnight stays in company pubs.
- Access to a discount programme covering many retailers.
- Structured in-house training to help with learning and career growth.
- A meal is provided when a shift lasts more than 6 hours.
- Flexible working arrangements designed to support family life.
- Paid time off for volunteering.
