Overview

Axiom Law seeks experienced lawyers specializing in Banking, Finance, and Derivatives to join our expert network, partnering with premier clients across the financial services industry. The role involves providing legal counsel on complex transactions spanning corporate and structured lending, treasury and liquidity management, OTC derivatives, ISDA framework, and regulatory compliance related to financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer strategic legal guidance on an extensive array of banking, finance, treasury, and derivatives topics, including cross-border transactions, structured finance, and risk management.
• Draft, scrutinize, negotiate, and administer sophisticated financial documentation such as loan contracts, security arrangements, ISDA paperwork, collateral agreements, and guarantees.
• Lead and support negotiations with financial institutions, borrowers, lenders, investors, and counterparties to facilitate seamless financing and derivatives arrangements.
• Deliver legal and regulatory advice ensuring banking, lending, treasury, and derivatives operations comply with applicable laws while aligning with commercial objectives.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams—legal, finance, risk, compliance, trading, operations, and external counsel—to drive transaction execution and regulatory initiatives.
• Evaluate legal, regulatory, and commercial risks of intricate transactions and provide pragmatic advice to support timely decisions in dynamic financial settings.

Candidate Requirements

• Admission as a qualified lawyer in Australia with substantial expertise in banking, finance, derivatives, or related sectors.
• Proven track record advising on intricate financing and financial markets matters encompassing lending, acquisition and structured finance, treasury, cross-border deals, OTC derivatives, and ISDA documentation.
• Expertise in drafting and negotiating an extensive variety of finance and trading agreements, including loan and LMA documentation, security and collateral structures, guarantees, and ISDA agreements.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience advising financial institutions, investment firms, corporates, and other key market participants while delivering commercially viable legal solutions.
