Bank Cashier - Fresher

Role overview

This position is for a bank cashier who will manage daily customer transactions with accuracy, keep cash balances in check, and support customers with professional service.

Cash handling

• Receive cash deposits and handle withdrawal requests.
• Count cash carefully, confirm totals, and reconcile transaction amounts.
• Maintain precision in all cash-related work.
• Identify counterfeit notes and escalate any mismatches or irregularities.

Customer support

• Respond to customer questions related to accounts.
• Share information about the bank’s products and services.
• Address routine customer issues politely and efficiently.
• Help create a smooth and positive customer experience.

Transaction processing

• Process cheques, demand drafts, and fund transfers.
• Handle payments, remittances, and account deposits.
• Check customer identity and validate supporting documents before processing transactions.
• Work in line with banking rules and internal procedures.

Record keeping

• Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
• Balance the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.
• Prepare end-of-day transaction reports.
• Protect the confidentiality of customer information.

Compliance and security

• Follow bank policies and regulatory standards at all times.
• Watch for suspicious activity and report it when needed.
• Handle cash and sensitive documents safely.
• Comply with anti-fraud and anti-money laundering requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

Applicants should have good numerical accuracy, strong customer interaction skills, attention to detail, basic computer and banking software knowledge, problem-solving ability, integrity, and the ability to keep information confidential.
