Job description
Role overview
This position is based with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust at Finch Road in Birmingham. The role focuses on front-line reception and administrative support, helping service users, GPs, patients, and their representatives in a courteous and professional way while following all relevant legislation, policies, procedures, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.
Key duties
You will handle enquiries in person and over the phone, look up information that may assist with resolving queries, and forward more involved matters to the appropriate member of staff. The role also includes answering calls for the Locality Team, transferring them to the correct person, or recording messages accurately in the designated message book.
Administrative work forms a major part of the job. This includes producing documents with word processing software and Microsoft Office, such as letters, tables, faxes, reports, and notices. You will also carry out routine clerical tasks like filing, photocopying, and using office equipment and software to prepare material to the required format. Daily use of Outlook is expected for sending and receiving emails, along with booking meeting rooms and equipment.
Another responsibility is checking patient information and demographics, and updating any changes on the FTB database to ensure records remain accurate.
