Back of House Assistant - Beauty Salon

Role overview

Brau is seeking a reliable, organised, and service-oriented Back of House Team Member to help ensure smooth salon operations and an excellent experience for every client. In this role, you will support the day-to-day running of the salon by preparing treatment areas, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, managing stock, and assisting both the artists and the reception team.

The position is intended to support Brau’s premium service environment and contribute to a seamless guest journey from arrival to departure.

Start date

This role is expected to begin in September 2026. Applications will be assessed before the salon opens, and shortlisted candidates may be contacted during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Set up treatment rooms and bays before each booking.
• Keep all equipment clean, sanitised, and fully replenished.
• Maintain an outstanding level of cleanliness and visual presentation across the salon.
• Assist artists by making sure they have the tools and materials needed for treatments.
• Track inventory levels and help place supply orders through approved vendors.
• Greet clients with refreshments and support completion of consultation forms when needed.
• Guide guests to their treatment rooms and introduce them to their artist.
• Back up the reception team during busy periods.
• Carry out opening, closing, and daily operational checklists.
• Deliver attentive customer service and help create a memorable client experience.
• Handle guest questions professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Flag maintenance concerns and help ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate with suppliers on maintenance and operational needs.
• Participate in team meetings and support salon events as required.
• Take on other operational duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a beauty, spa, hospitality, or comparable operations role.
• Strong organisational ability and close attention to detail.
• Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to support the broader team.
• Solid communication and client service skills.
• Ability to stay effective in a busy, fast-moving environment.
• Availability for rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Prior knowledge of salon services, products, and professional standards is a plus.
