Job description

Role overview

Buzz, part of the Ryanair Group, is hiring B737 Non-Type Rated First Officers to join Europe’s largest airline group. Training is scheduled to begin this winter.

This role offers the chance for experienced, highly driven pilots to become part of a fast-growing operation across a variety of Buzz bases. Ryanair Group is expanding rapidly, with a target of more than 800 aircraft and 300 million guests over the next eight years, and the company aims to become the world’s largest airline.

Ryanair Group pilots benefit from fixed roster patterns, strong career progression, and solid job security within an expanding operation.

Selection process

If your application is shortlisted, you will first be asked to complete an online assessment.

This step is required under EASA rules, which state that all newly recruited pilots must complete a Work-Related Behavioural Assessment before training starts (EASA CAT.GEN.MPA.175).

The process has two stages:

  • Stage 1: Online assessment — completed remotely through AON.
  • A non-refundable fee of €60 applies regardless of the result.
  • First Officers must complete four tasks.
  • Stage 2: Simulator and in-person interview — includes a full psychological evaluation as part of the simulator assessment and face-to-face interview.

Only candidates who meet the required standard in both stages can be considered for an offer.

This is not a cadet position.

Requirements

  • You must have an unrestricted right to live and work in the EU.
  • You must be under 65 years of age.
  • You need to hold an EASA Part-FCL licence.
  • You must have a valid EU Part-MED Class 1 medical certificate.
  • A minimum of 700 total flying hours is required.
  • You must have at least 500 hours as a First Officer on a multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft used in commercial air transport. Flight instructor hours will not be counted.
  • You must hold at least a CPL(A) with a valid multi-engine instrument rating. The MEIR expiry date cannot be more than 12 months from the course start date, and it must be valid on the assessment date.
  • You must have passed the ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge examinations in line with FCL.515.
  • English proficiency must be at ICAO Operational Level 4 or higher, including written proficiency at that level.
  • You must be able to pass an enhanced background check and satisfy all other regulatory requirements.

If you do not meet the minimum hour requirements, you are advised to apply for one of the cadet programmes listed on the career page.
