AV Technician

Role overview

IHG Hotels & Resorts is hiring an AV Technician in Doha, Qatar to support audio-visual operations across events, meetings, and presentations. The role focuses on keeping AV, video, and lighting systems reliable, safe, and ready for use, while delivering courteous support to guests and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Keep AV assets organized and in good working condition.
• Carry out regular inspections, fault-finding, and preventive upkeep for audio, video, and lighting equipment.
• Prepare, configure, and run AV systems for meetings, presentations, and events.
• Manage cables, connectors, and related accessories so they remain secure and orderly.
• Provide professional on-site AV assistance to guests and hotel teams.
• Work in line with safety guidelines and emergency response procedures when handling equipment.
• Support events whenever required.
• Spot possible risks in AV setups, take corrective steps, and escalate issues to supervisors when needed.
• Record equipment use, maintenance concerns, and incidents according to hotel process.

What we are looking for

• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Willingness to work changing shifts and handle a variety of tasks.
• At least 1 year of experience in a comparable setting, with 4-5 star hotel experience preferred.
• Certificate in AV operations or other relevant technical training.
• Working knowledge of safety practices and emergency procedures.
