About the Role

This full-time opportunity sits within the Audio/Visual Department supporting the PETA Foundation and its international affiliates. The role is centered on producing and editing compelling visual content that advances animal rights, ranging from celebrity public service announcements for global audiences to high-impact social media pieces. It is well suited to an experienced editor-videographer who enjoys collaborative production work and wants the output to contribute to a larger mission.

Position Objective

The purpose of this role is to develop dynamic, forward-looking audio-visual content that supports the animal rights work of the PETA Foundation and related organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop original, engaging video content in response to requests from the PETA Foundation and its supported organizations.
  • Partner closely with the director, manager, and other internal stakeholders throughout the creative and production process.
  • Plan and execute video, audio, and photo shoots from concept through completion.
  • Add visual enhancements such as effects, titles, and motion graphics.
  • Oversee video quality control to ensure polished final deliverables.
  • Format content appropriately for different digital platforms and publication channels.
  • Organize, archive, and upload raw footage and finished masters in the A/V database and server, and prepare legal breakdowns for edits.
  • Carry out light upkeep of A/V equipment and supplies, and report any issues or purchasing needs promptly.
  • Follow all applicable legal requirements related to video production throughout the full production cycle.
  • Handle additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • A degree in a relevant discipline plus three years of related experience, or alternatively five years of directly related experience.
  • Strong editing background, including hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Familiarity with professional-grade audio-visual equipment.
  • Strong understanding of and respect for the creative process.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excellent organization and strong attention to detail.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills when working with staff and the public.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once.
  • Comfort working under tight deadlines in a professional setting.
  • Proven track record of protecting confidentiality.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid U.S. driver’s license, have at least three years of driving experience, and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and goals.
