Role Overview

This position is for a Bertha Certified Test Operator who will contribute to autonomous vehicle testing programs. The certification reflects advanced capability in real-world vehicle trials, awareness of system behavior, and effective interaction with the public, all of which help produce reliable data and support a safe AV experience.

What You Will Do

  • Drive and supervise autonomous vehicles while prioritizing safety and monitoring overall system performance.
  • Record live observations and document issues through specialized reporting software.
  • Interact professionally with ride-hailing passengers during autonomous rides.
  • Carry out route-based testing in a range of settings, including city streets and highways.
  • Follow Bertha certification requirements and maintain accurate, high-quality data.
  • Prepare detailed test reports and work closely with engineering teams.
  • Be available for changing schedules, including overnight, weekend, and early-morning shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Bertha Certification for autonomous vehicle testing.
  • A current Class C driver’s license with a clean driving history and a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
  • Comfort with digital tools used for logging, reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong decision-making, concentration, and communication abilities.
