Job description

About the role

TSMG Holding is hiring an Autonomous Vehicle Operations Lead to manage day-to-day activities for autonomous vehicle and robotaxi fleets. The role supports testing programs, commercial autonomous ride-hailing services, and the launch of new cities across Europe.

In this depot leadership position, you will coordinate Safety Operators, Depot Specialists, Senior Technicians, and SDS Specialists so vehicles stay safe, fully functional, and ready for deployment. The role is central to maintaining fleet availability, achieving operational targets, and helping scale autonomous vehicle operations successfully.

This opportunity suits professionals with a background in fleet operations, mobility services, automotive operations, logistics, or transportation who are comfortable leading teams in fast-moving, technology-focused settings.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct the everyday operation of autonomous vehicle and robotaxi fleets across one or more depot sites.
  • Keep vehicles prepared for testing, commercial rollout, and autonomous ride-hailing activity.
  • Track fleet usage, vehicle availability, charging plans, and overall operational readiness.
  • Manage daily vehicle dispatch and return flow to improve fleet efficiency.
  • Reduce vehicle downtime through careful planning and coordination.
  • Run depot activities in a safe, efficient, and well-organized way.
  • Supervise Depot Specialists, Safety Operators, Senior Technicians, and SDS Specialists.
  • Make sure vehicles meet cleanliness, charging, inspection, and maintenance expectations before they go out.
  • Help prepare depots and operations for new city launches and fleet growth projects.
  • Hire, onboard, train, and oversee operational staff.
  • Create shift rosters that support 24/7 operations.
  • Carry out performance reviews and coaching conversations.
  • Build a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure team members follow all operating procedures and safety rules.
  • Serve as the main operational point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with engineering, product, technical, and fleet management teams on daily tasks.
  • Prepare operational reports, KPI dashboards, and performance summaries.
  • Escalate risks and create mitigation plans when needed.
  • Support customer site visits, audits, and operational reviews.
  • Track key indicators such as fleet availability, uptime, dispatch efficiency, depot productivity, and operational quality.
  • Spot opportunities to improve processes and reduce downtime.
  • Create and roll out standard operating procedures for autonomous vehicle operations.
  • Support ongoing improvement efforts during fleet scaling and commercial deployment.
  • Make sure company policies, local rules, and operating procedures are followed.
  • Encourage a strong safety mindset across all operational teams.
  • Ensure incidents are investigated, recorded, and closed properly.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, fleet, and depot requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in fleet operations, automotive operations, transportation, logistics, mobility services, or a related operational setting.
  • Prior experience leading operational or technical teams.
  • Background managing shift-based operations or 24/7 schedules.
  • Strong leadership and team management capability.
  • Good organisation and planning skills.
  • Experience tracking KPIs and operational performance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Preferred: exposure to autonomous vehicles, robotaxi fleets, ADAS programs, or automotive testing.
  • Preferred: experience with electric vehicle fleet operations.
  • Preferred: previous involvement in opening new operational sites or depots.
  • Preferred: familiarity with fleet management systems and reporting tools.
  • Preferred: additional European languages depending on project location.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate blends operational discipline with strong people leadership and an interest in emerging mobility technologies. You should be able to coordinate people, vehicles, depots, and processes while keeping safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction at a high standard. The role suits someone who enjoys solving operational problems as autonomous fleets expand into new cities and markets.

Whether the work involves pilot programs or fully commercial robotaxi operations, you will help ensure that every vehicle, shift, and team member contributes to a dependable autonomous mobility service.

What we offer

  • The chance to lead large-scale autonomous vehicle and robotaxi operations across Europe.
  • Exposure to advanced self-driving technologies and commercial autonomous ride-hailing services.
  • A leadership role involved in new city launches, depot setup, and fleet expansion.
  • Close collaboration with engineering, product, and operations teams shaping autonomous transportation.
  • Long-term career growth in fleet management, autonomous mobility, and robotaxi operations.
  • International projects connected to some of the world’s leading autonomous vehicle programs.
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing professional development.
