Job Overview
Monk Prayogshala is seeking two professionals for authorship roles, allowing remote work from Mumbai suburban areas or elsewhere. Applicants will work on research projects across Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Public Policy, and Gender Studies. The exact salary is undisclosed. Work schedules are split between Indian and European/North American time zones, with 5-6 day workweeks depending on workload.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants aged 25 to 40 years with undergraduate (BA/BSc) or postgraduate (MA/MSc) degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology or related disciplines, or equivalent experience of 3-5 years.
- One to three years professional experience in relevant research profiles.
- Minimum two years experience formulating and preferably conducting research projects.
- Strong analytical abilities, delegation skills, and comprehensive understanding of the full research lifecycle.
- Command over academic writing styles with multi-domain research development exposure.
- Educational or practical knowledge in research methodology, advanced statistics, qualitative methods, and thematic research areas.
- Functional grasp of relevant theoretical frameworks in their field.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and fluent written and spoken communication in English and spoken Hindi.
- Prior work in universities, independent or government research organizations, or as research authors/assistants in medium to large research projects.
- Proven ability to communicate and coordinate with various research personnel including interns, assistants, statisticians, and operations administrators.
Candidates are encouraged to submit samples or portfolios of their research work via electronic means or bring them on a USB drive.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop research proposals and guide literature review preparation.
- Coordinate and implement research study execution across multiple projects.
- Design and program experimental studies using tools like Open Sesame, Wextor, and Inquisit including their web frameworks.
- Manage multiple research projects, ensuring automation, uptime, and reliable deployment stages.
- Architect experiments optimized for availability, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement automation strategies to resolve potential outages in ongoing research projects.
Technical Proficiencies
- Databases: Expertise in Science Direct, Google Scholar, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Sage, Wiley, PsycINFO, DOAJ, and openDOAR.
- Statistical software: Proficiency with SPSS and R.
- Research management tools: Skilled in using Mendeley and Zotero for literature and citation management.
