Job description
Role overview
This remote contract role is focused on improving AI language systems by supplying accurate Australian English input and reviewing generated transcripts. Your contribution will help refine how models interpret, reason with, and produce real-world Australian English.
What you will do
- Check machine-produced English transcripts and correct mistakes to maintain a high standard of accuracy.
- Speak transcribed passages in a clear, natural Australian English accent for audio capture.
- Work from a quiet setting to produce clean recordings without needing studio-grade equipment.
- Assess and improve language data so it better reflects everyday Australian English usage, wording, and expression.
- Share feedback with the client team on transcription rules and audio guidance.
- Carefully review written and spoken content for errors, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
- Protect confidential information and follow all required data security practices.
Required background and skills
- Native-level Australian English ability in both speech and writing.
- Solid grasp of Australian English pronunciation, phonetics, and diction.
- Ability to spot transcript errors quickly and make accurate corrections.
- Clear, confident speaking style suitable for recording audio.
- Comfort working independently in a quiet, distraction-free environment.
- Strong precision and a consistent focus on language quality.
- Basic familiarity with laptop-based audio recording tools; professional studio equipment is not necessary.
Preferred experience
- Previous exposure to audio engineering, voice work, voice acting, or call-centre roles involving voice training.
- Experience with transcription, annotation, or other language data tasks.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and accuracy.
Additional information
This position is a contract role and can be performed remotely. No prior AI-specific experience is required, as the main requirement is strong Australian English expertise.
