Stratford upon Avon School in Warwickshire is looking for an organised, proactive Attendance Improvement Officer to join its busy support team from September 2026. The role focuses on tracking and improving student attendance, identifying attendance trends, and helping the school meet both internal attendance goals and statutory duties set by the Department for Education and the local authority.
Key duties
The post holder will handle attendance monitoring and related processes, investigate absence patterns, and collaborate with staff, students, families, and outside agencies to improve attendance outcomes. The role is based mainly in the main office and works alongside the line manager and wider administrative team, which includes colleagues supporting admissions, reprographics, and reception.
Working pattern
This position is for 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, over 41 weeks each year. The exact working hours will be arranged with the line manager.
Salary
The full-time Band G salary range is £28,598 to £31,537 per year, with the starting point determined by experience and qualifications. Based on the stated hours and weeks, the actual annual salary is £26,046 to £28,722, subject to any continuous service.
Application process
Interested candidates should complete the school’s application form by the deadline of Monday 22 June 2026. Completed applications must be submitted by 12 noon on Monday 29 June 2026. Interviews are scheduled to begin from 2 July 2026 onwards. Electronic applications should be sent to recruitment@stratfordschool.co.uk. Further information is available on the school website.
Safeguarding and checks
The school places safeguarding at the centre of its recruitment and expects all employees and volunteers to support the welfare of children and young people. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will require an Enhanced DBS check as well as a children’s barred list check.
