Overview
Visiting Angels of Anniston is looking for caregivers to support clients across the local service area, including Talladega, Munford, Anniston, Harpersville, Riverside, Lincoln, and nearby communities. This role is part of a nationally recognized at-home care network and is suited to someone who wants meaningful work, flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and room to grow.
What You’ll Do
In this position, you will help clients follow their individualized care plans and contribute to their comfort, safety, and overall well-being.
- Assist with personal hygiene and other daily care needs.
- Support light exercise and short walks when appropriate.
- Prepare meals together with clients.
- Take care of light cleaning and household tasks.
- Notice and report changes in health or unusual events.
- Offer friendly companionship and emotional support.
- Act promptly and responsibly if an emergency occurs.
- Accompany clients and keep an eye on them during shopping trips.
- Give reminders for prescribed medication use.
- Help with mobility and walking support at home and while attending appointments or running errands.
Training and Growth
Caregivers may have access to additional training in specialized areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care to help expand their abilities.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following expectations:
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and access to a dependable personal vehicle for client transportation.
- Strong verbal communication and people skills.
- First aid and emergency response training; this can be provided if needed.
- Good time management and the ability to handle several responsibilities at once.
- Reliable transportation to reach client homes on scheduled shifts.
- Physical stamina to assist with tasks such as carrying groceries and supporting clients physically.
- Comfort with cooking and housekeeping while following dietary restrictions and care instructions.
- Willingness to follow state and office-specific health, safety, and background check requirements.
- A caring attitude, patience, and a genuine desire to improve each client’s day.
