Overview
The Payroll Assurance and Compliance Team aims to implement corrective actions from the Payroll Compliance Review project, ensuring adherence to industrial regulations through compliant systems and processes. This function is critical to managing and enhancing business operations, governance, and risk within Business and Customer Services.
Role Summary
Successful candidates will possess in-depth experience and understanding of payroll services within the Western Australian public sector. This position supports senior managers and compliance officers by administering and resolving payroll non-compliance matters and casual long service leave issues. The role entails investigating discrepancies, improving compliance frameworks, engaging stakeholders effectively, and participating in assurance evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assurance reviews and audits of casual long service leave computations.
- Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate payroll processes and changes.
- Engage in data cleansing activities to maintain accurate payroll information.
- Assist in developing and delivering training programs focused on casual long service leave.
- Ensure correct and compliant payment of casual long service leave benefits, including those payable to deceased estates.
- Support ongoing system and process enhancements to facilitate compliance and operational efficiency.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, or holders of a valid work visa for the appointment period.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a Screening Clearance Number before commencing employment.
- Possess or be able to secure a current Working with Children Check.
