About the role

Masai is hiring an AVP for Curriculum and Pedagogy to shape curriculum direction, academic standards, and learning impact across its programs. This position is centered on creating practical, industry-aligned learning experiences that improve learner engagement, maintain academic excellence, and meet the expectations of institute partners and the hiring market.

Core responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the curriculum plan across programs so it stays aligned with learner goals, industry needs, and requirements from institute partners.
  • Design, refine, and scale learning structures, including learning journeys, modules, projects, assessments, and capstone work.
  • Improve teaching methods across live sessions, project-led learning, practice activities, assessments, feedback cycles, and academic support interventions.
  • Collaborate with institute partners, universities, and other academic stakeholders to jointly build, review, and upgrade curriculum for partnered programs.
  • Define and enforce academic quality benchmarks for content, assessments, grading rubrics, learner progression, and consistency in delivery.
  • Use learner data, student feedback, placement outcomes, and partner inputs to keep improving the curriculum and overall learning results.
  • Work with Product, Business, Operations, Placements, Data, and Leadership teams to support program performance and upcoming launches.
  • Lead, guide, and develop curriculum designers, instructional designers, academic leads, subject matter experts, and pedagogy teams.
  • Build repeatable systems for curriculum creation, review cycles, version control, quality assurance, and ongoing improvement.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in curriculum design, pedagogy, instructional design, academic leadership, or education program management.
  • Proven ability to create outcome-focused curriculum for adult learners, higher education, skilling, edtech, or professional learning environments.
  • Direct experience working with institute partners, universities, or external academic stakeholders.
  • Strong command of instructional design, assessment design, learner engagement, academic quality, and learning effectiveness.
  • Background in leading curriculum, pedagogy, instructional design, or academic teams.
  • Excellent analytical ability, stakeholder handling, and communication skills.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, high-ownership, and often ambiguous environment.
  • Preferred exposure to tech education, coding bootcamps, data programs, business programs, or employability-focused learning.
  • Additional advantage if you have worked with AI-enabled learning, LMS platforms, learning analytics, or adaptive learning tools.
  • Experience partnering with hiring teams, industry specialists, or employer-facing stakeholders is a plus.
  • Previous work in a startup or high-growth education business would be valuable.
