Role Overview

The company is seeking a driven biologist to join the expanding CNS in vivo research team in San Diego. The role supports discovering, developing, and translating novel drug targets through in vivo studies and preclinical model development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in vivo experiments advancing drug discovery for various disease conditions.
• Develop and establish new animal models for preclinical studies.
• Perform behavioral testing in animal subjects when required.
• Coordinate activities across internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate study progress.
• Review scientific literature to troubleshoot challenges and integrate findings into projects.
• Communicate study outcomes to project teams and document results in technical reports.
• Maintain efficient lab productivity and complete critical experimental work.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a biology-related discipline.
• Minimum two years of extensive experience handling small animals.
• Strong skills in accurate record keeping, data analysis, visualization, and presentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines effectively.
• Proven creativity, innovation, and persistence in solving scientific problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication competencies.
• Self-driven team player comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary matrix environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing CNS surgeries or administering drugs directly to the central nervous system.
• Familiarity with in vivo models related to epilepsy and migraine.
• Expertise in developing preclinical disease models for drug discovery applications.

Compensation and Additional Information

The position offers a California salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 annually, paired with a competitive benefits package.
