Institution Overview
The National University of Malaysia – Qatar (UKM-Qatar), within its Faculty of Modern & Technological Sciences in Lusail, Qatar, is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in the field of Computer Science. This full-time role seeks an accomplished academic with a strong background in teaching, research, and contribution to university service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate Computer Science courses using modern teaching methods and educational technologies.
- Participate actively in curriculum design, program reviews, student assessment, accreditation, and quality assurance processes.
- Supervise student research projects and dissertations at various academic levels.
- Engage in high-quality research activities, publishing in reputable journals and presenting at international conferences.
- Initiate and contribute to interdisciplinary and externally funded research projects.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Contribute to faculty and university committees and participate in academic initiatives.
- Establish partnerships with academic, industry, and professional organizations to enhance research and educational opportunities.
- Support the Faculty and UKM-Qatar’s academic and research mission.
Qualifications and Experience
- PhD or equivalent doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited university.
- Strong academic credentials fitting an appointment at the Associate Professor level.
- Substantial university-level teaching experience in Computer Science or related disciplines.
- Familiarity with modern instructional methods, including digital platforms and educational technologies.
- Experience in curriculum development, program assessment, and quality assurance.
- Proven track record of supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
- Active research profile demonstrated through publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
- Experience leading or participating in funded interdisciplinary research projects is advantageous.
- Capability to work well in diverse, multicultural academic settings, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
