Job description

About the company

Mastercard operates across more than 200 countries and territories, helping power economies and expand access for people and businesses around the world. The company supports secure, simple, smart, and accessible digital payment options, backed by technology, innovation, partnerships, and networks designed to help customers, businesses, and governments reach their full potential.

Role overview

This opportunity sits within Advisors & Consulting Services, where the focus is on winning, engaging, and retaining customers by improving fraud and risk controls, strengthening cybersecurity, and enhancing the digital payments experience. The team combines management consulting methods with Mastercard’s data assets, proprietary tools, and technology to deliver strategic insight and practical recommendations for clients across sectors such as banking, payments, retail, and restaurants.

The Business Experimentation specialization helps executives make better decisions through Mastercard’s predictive analytics platform, Test & Learn®. In this role, you will work with clients to define priorities, design and run experiments, and turn results into actions that show what works and how to scale it.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery workstreams and manage project outputs across multiple industries and business challenges.
  • Build or support data-driven strategies and programs for regional and global clients using tools such as Test & Learn®.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as a dependable advisor to client managers.
  • Provide analytical and technical expertise that helps clients adopt and use Test & Learn® effectively.
  • Support campaign planning and measurement by aligning audiences with campaign goals, reviewing performance metrics, producing detailed effectiveness reports, and analysing post-campaign results to recommend future improvements.
  • Create clear business recommendations and present findings in an impactful way.
  • Organize your own work and guide junior consultants in structuring analyses, interpreting results, and building persuasive narratives.
  • Facilitate team discussions and client meetings, and take responsibility for project management tasks where needed.
  • Contribute ideas, frameworks, and other intellectual assets to strengthen the team’s solutions.
  • Develop into greater ownership of day-to-day project coordination and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree with analytical experience in consulting, analytics, or data science.
  • Prior experience working with clients or internal stakeholders.
  • Hands-on exposure to campaign analytics.
  • Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving ability, including the capacity to work through large datasets and convert findings into recommendations.
  • Structured and logical thinking, with comfort using statistical and numerical analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and clients in a fast-moving, deadline-oriented setting.
  • Effective spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites on a semi-regular basis.
  • Additional experience in data modeling, database management such as SQL, data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI, or time-series analysis and segmentation is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating workstreams in collaborative environments with third parties is preferred.
  • Previous coaching experience with junior delivery consultants is preferred.
  • Industry-specific expertise is preferred.
  • An MBA or master’s degree with a relevant specialization is welcomed but not mandatory.
  • All work must follow Mastercard’s security policies, confidentiality requirements, and mandatory security training obligations.

Additional information

This role is a 12-month position based in St Leonards, New South Wales, Australia. Candidates must be able to work onsite and travel to client locations periodically. Mastercard expects all team members with access to its assets, information, and systems to protect confidentiality, safeguard integrity, report suspected security issues, and complete required security training.
