IT Business Analyst - Healthcare Data Analytics

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled IT Business Analyst specializing in healthcare data analytics to join our client in Indianapolis, IN. This hybrid position involves three days onsite and two days remote weekly. The analyst will collaborate closely with diverse teams to review pharmacy operational data, create performance metrics, and develop automated dashboards while ensuring adherence to HIPAA and data governance protocols. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, technical expertise, and excellent communication to drive data-valued business insights in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze data related to pharmacy dispensing and fulfillment to inform operational decisions.
• Create, validate, and maintain operational metrics by integrating multiple data sources.
• Enhance data quality, accuracy of reports, and increase automation in reporting processes.
• Build and sustain dashboards and reports that monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for stakeholders.
• Provide consolidated data views to support finance and operations reporting.
• Conduct data analyses using SQL, Python, R, and Excel to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Translate complex datasets into actionable business recommendations to resolve operational challenges.
• Manage Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and maintain separation of manufacturer and covered-entity data per governance policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Data Science, Marketing, or a closely related discipline.
• Between 3 and 8 years of experience as a Business or Data Analyst.
• 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a HIPAA-covered healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Excel, and either Python or R for data analysis.
• Experience analyzing healthcare, pharmacy, claims, or dispensing datasets.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA regulations and handling of PHI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Background supporting pharmacy operations or healthcare analytics.

Additional Information

• This is a long-term W-2 contract position with competitive compensation.
• Work location requires hybrid attendance: 3 days onsite in Indianapolis, IN, and 2 days remote each week.
