Role Overview

The Associate Managing Consultant in the Advisors & Consulting Services division, focusing on Strategy & Transformation, partners with clients to address strategic, operational, and transformational challenges across a variety of industries including banking, payments, retail, and restaurants. This role leverages Mastercard's data assets, platforms, and technology combined with traditional consulting methods to create insightful strategies and impactful recommendations to help clients improve performance and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and management of deliverables and workstreams for projects spanning multiple industries and challenges.
  • Develop data-driven strategies and programs for local, regional, and global clients to unlock value and leverage technology solutions.
  • Maintain productive relationships with client management, serving as a trusted and dependable partner.
  • Craft well-founded business recommendations and deliver compelling presentations to clients.
  • Organize and structure both personal work and that of junior consultants to effectively analyze client problems, synthesize findings, and build persuasive narratives.
  • Lead meetings internally and externally, managing or co-managing project execution.
  • Contribute actively to Mastercard’s intellectual capital and solution offerings.
  • Mentor junior delivery consultants and evolve into taking ownership of day-to-day project management responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree with professional experience in consulting, corporate strategy, business intelligence, product management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing clients or internal stakeholders.
  • Strong logical and structured thinking capabilities with a numerical analysis aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
  • Ability to multitask effectively across multiple clients in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environments.
  • Fluent communication skills in English and local office languages as needed.
  • Authorization to work in Canada and ability to obtain necessary travel visas for client site visits.
  • Willingness and ability to travel semi-regularly to client locations.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience managing workstreams collaboratively with third-party teams.
  • Proven ability to coach and guide junior consultants.
  • Industry-specific expertise relevant to Mastercard's client base.
  • An MBA or master’s degree with pertinent specialization is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Work Conditions

The role offers a competitive annual base salary ranging from 115000 to 155000 CAD, dependent on location, experience, and qualifications, along with eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program. This is a full-time onsite position based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
