About the Role
The Associate Manager of Production for Denim and Wovens plays a crucial role in overseeing the full cycle of finished goods delivery for women's and men's denim and woven apparel, as well as apparel accessories. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Production, Denim and Cut & Sew, this role bridges development hand-offs with successful production shipments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain in-depth understanding of all seasonal denim and woven collection developments from concept selection to production milestones to ensure alignment on deliverables, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness supporting company strategies.
- Collaborate with teams to identify innovative solutions addressing workflow challenges, improving speed to market, optimizing production execution, and managing capacity as part of a design-driven brand.
- Partner with design and product development leadership to approve raw materials, washes, and treatment standards, while supporting diversification, sustainability, and all bulk level approvals.
- Attend vendor appointments to stay informed on collection quality, trends, vendor capabilities, pricing, and lead business negotiations.
- Monitor work-in-progress reports proactively to detect and address delays, quality issues, supply chain disruptions, and escalate risks early in cooperation with factories and logistics teams.
- Manage day-to-day communications and planning with internal teams and vendors.
- Issue seasonal supply projections and define deliverable expectations for the supply chain.
- Support finished goods costing negotiations ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Identify opportunities to boost production efficiency, reduce lead times, minimum order quantities, and unit costs while strengthening partnerships with factories.
- Support management of production calendars, workflows, deadlines, and deliverables across denim and woven supply chains.
- Maintain integrity of all RLM data from development through finished goods including purchase orders, factory updates, country of origin, and packing attributes.
- Provide quantitative and qualitative production metrics reporting for denim and woven lines on seasonal, monthly, and weekly bases.
- Work cross-functionally with product development, technical design, sourcing, sustainability, operations, merchandising, marketing, press, e-commerce, logistics, sales, and others to ensure development readiness, coordinate production requirements, and maintain product integrity.
- Support integration and use of AI technology to improve upstream and downstream production and development processes related to denim and woven apparel.
- Participate in and enforce fit session standards aligning with design intent, business needs, and customer expectations.
- Ensure quality assurance processes including hindsight reviews, corrective actions, and monthly chargeback validations.
- Oversee seasonal regulatory compliance, data collection, and supply chain maintenance through platforms like Retraced.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in apparel production.
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Practical knowledge of fabric washes, print techniques, and garment treatments.
- Proficiency in Excel, PLM software, and image editing tools with sketching capability.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate clearly and directly in verbal, written, and visual formats.
- Solution-oriented, self-starting professional able to thrive under pressure and adapt quickly with a sense of urgency.
- Effective at cross-department collaboration and a team player willing to learn and adjust approaches based on prior experience to ensure successful outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $85,000 annually, reflecting experience and skills in compliance with New York City salary transparency laws.
