About the Company

Our client is a standalone boutique investment banking advisory firm headquartered in Singapore with operations across Asia. They focus on private financing, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and restructuring advisory services. The firm covers diverse industries such as Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT), Consumer and Retail, Industrials, Real Estate and Hospitality, as well as Infrastructure.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Associate/Senior Associate will collaborate closely with senior management to drive various transactions and oversee a team of Analysts. Key duties include:

  • Supporting transaction execution by assisting senior team members.
  • Preparing marketing materials including teasers, information memorandums, and management presentations.
  • Building detailed financial analyses to aid the deal process; this includes constructing financial models like operating models and pro-forma earnings, and performing valuation assessments such as discounted cash flow (DCF), sum-of-the-parts (SOTP), and comparable company analyses (precedent transactions and trading).
  • Serving as the primary contact for coordinating client due diligence efforts.
  • Maintaining client relationships by managing daily inquiries and gathering pertinent information to complete engagements.
  • Coordinating across different company levels and with external parties to successfully close transactions.
  • Performing industry-specific research to generate market reports that highlight significant trends, issues, and outlooks.
  • Conducting research on special projects or sectors to uncover business opportunities and potential new clients.
  • Tracking relevant companies and sectors regularly for important developments and announcements.
  • Contributing industry insights to support the creation of transaction marketing materials and deepen firm knowledge on one or more sectors.
  • Managing client documentation (both physical and electronic) including NDAs, engagement letters, and ensuring these are correctly stored and backed up.
  • Assisting senior team members with drafting and negotiating NDAs and client engagement contracts.
  • Scheduling and organizing meetings and conference calls.
  • Ensuring proper follow-up on closed deal processes such as client communications, tombstone preparation, and case study documentation.
  • Updating and maintaining company databases timely and accurately.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to independently and collaboratively execute tasks effectively.
  • Energetic, decisive with a strong sense of integrity.
  • Exceptionally organized, attentive to detail, proactive, and capable of managing multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in professional business English.
  • Comfortable engaging with business clients and management personnel.
  • Excellent expertise in industry analysis, financial analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Competent at interpreting qualitative and quantitative data and summarizing it clearly.
  • Knowledgeable about financial products including term debt, working capital financing, project finance, structured products, and M&A transactions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and financial databases such as Capital IQ and Bloomberg.
