Job description

Overview

The Finished Vehicle Logistics team oversees the efficient transportation of cars throughout the network of ports, storage facilities, and transport carriers. This role involves close collaboration with regulatory bodies, port administrations, shipping companies, trucking firms, and internal Tesla teams at factories and delivery centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange trucking and vessel capacities according to volume forecasts.
  • Manage shipment creation within the Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Update and maintain precise estimated times of arrival (ETAs) to enhance transparency for receiving sites.
  • Establish and nurture working relationships with vehicle carriers, port operators, and other logistics partners, as necessary.
  • Ensure strict compliance with customs procedures.
  • Collaborate with central teams to coordinate bulk scheduling of incoming customer vehicles.
  • Analyze and uphold key performance indicators (KPIs) across all stakeholders.
  • Oversee inventory levels at logistics hubs across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving operations for ports and vehicle compounds.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supply chain management or operations, preferably in the automotive manufacturing or supplier sector.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting clearly and convincingly across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent critical thinking abilities, capable of resolving complex or ambiguous issues.
  • Proactive mindset with a desire to expand and share logistics and supply chain knowledge.
  • Hands-on, practical approach to problem solving.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours as required.
  • Demonstrated bias toward action and supporting team members.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, managing multiple priorities effectively to meet deadlines.
