About the Role

A prominent global technology manufacturer operating across the USA, Europe, and APAC is scaling up its Singapore operations and seeking a highly experienced Associate Director/Director for Planning. This leader will spearhead the global manufacturing capacity planning strategy, ensuring optimal factory capacity to meet business growth and customer demands. The role involves building scalable planning systems, standardized capacity models, and governance frameworks while collaborating across Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to align short- and long-term capacity plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the overarching global manufacturing capacity planning strategy, including creating robust planning frameworks, systems, governance structures, and uniform factory capacity models that enable scalable, data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing capacity models leveraging advanced analytical approaches, maintain precise master data on capacity, identify bottlenecks, and foster continuous process improvements.
  • Manage the manufacturing capacity planning process within Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), ensuring demand-capacity synchronization, regular monitoring of global capacity utilization, risk management, and conducting scenario analyses to guide business and investment choices.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering teams to implement capacity expansions, enhance production loading and asset utilization at factories, oversee manufacturing asset data governance, and contribute to strategic labor and workforce planning.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related fields is required; an advanced degree is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing supply chain, capacity planning, industrial engineering, or operations planning; at least 5 years in leadership roles within a global manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in semiconductor, electronics, or other high-tech manufacturing sectors, with specialized skills in capacity modeling, forecasting, optimization, and scenario planning.
  • Proficiency with SAP IBP, SAP HANA, SAP ECC, or similar enterprise-level planning systems, complemented by advanced Excel and analytical modeling skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, and capacity management, paired with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities emphasizing data-driven decisions.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of guiding cross-functional projects within a matrix organization.
  • Commercial acumen, goal orientation, collaborative work style, strong project management capabilities, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
