Role Overview
The Bank of East Asia is hiring an Associate Director, Relationship Manager for its private banking team in Singapore. The role focuses on serving high-value clients, expanding the wealth management business, and delivering tailored advisory support across investment and financial planning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate client goals, risk tolerance, and financial preferences to recommend appropriate investment options.
- Build and deepen relationships with key clients to help grow the bank’s wealth management business.
- Carry out KYC and AML checks carefully, ensuring all required records and forms are completed correctly.
- Provide a high standard of client service to improve satisfaction and the overall banking experience.
- Bring in new clients and support revenue growth by increasing assets under management.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and internal compliance standards related to wealth management.
- Oversee client portfolios and give advisory support to high net worth and ultra high net worth clients.
- Work closely with colleagues and other stakeholders in a dynamic, client-focused setting.
- Communicate fluently and professionally in English with both clients and internal teams.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in private banking, wealth management, priority banking, or financial advisory.
- Demonstrated background in handling high net worth or ultra high net worth clients within a financial institution.
- Hands-on experience in client acquisition, relationship development, and portfolio advisory.
- Exposure to international or cross-border client segments is preferred.
- Working knowledge of wealth and investment products such as managed investments, foreign exchange, securities, derivatives, structured products, insurance, and financial planning solutions.
- Ability to balance strong compliance practices with effective advisory service.
- Relevant certifications such as CMFAS and/or CACS Papers 1 and 2.
- Good understanding of the background and needs of mainland China HNW/UHNW clients.
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin to engage effectively with Cantonese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
