Position Overview
The Associate Director for Digital Marketing & Fan Experience will spearhead strategic digital marketing campaigns and fan engagement initiatives to strengthen the University of South Carolina Athletics brand. Primary duties involve boosting game attendance, enhancing ticket sales, growing membership programs, increasing revenue, and elevating fan satisfaction. This role focuses on comprehensive marketing and game-day fan experience administration for all varsity sports, with dedicated oversight of men's and women's soccer marketing strategies. Additional responsibilities include leading marketing for the Gamecock Club and Junior Gamecock Club, supporting revenue initiatives such as the Forever Garnet program, and managing digital engagement via the athletics website and mobile app.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote athletics and engage fans.
- Manage fan experience and game presentation activities for athletic events, especially soccer.
- Lead membership growth efforts and revenue-generating programs like Forever Garnet.
- Supervise and mentor interns and project teams involved in marketing and fan experience.
- Maintain digital platforms including the athletics website and mobile app for maximum engagement.
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays aligned with sports event schedules.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven ability to create and execute marketing plans and attendance initiatives.
- Experience in planning and running game-day promotional events.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Capacity to juggle multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work during variable hours, including event times.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, sport management, communications, business administration, public relations, or related field.
- One to three years of experience in sports marketing, fan engagement, or athletics marketing preferred.
