About the Role
Chronicle Books is seeking a Sales, Marketing, and Publicity Assistant to support the New York-based Marketing & Publicity team and the Northeast Independent and School & Library Sales Manager. Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing & Publicity, this vital position involves collaboration across departments to help bring the company's books to market.
Responsibilities
The role's duties are split evenly between sales and marketing/publicity tasks:
- Assist the key account sales manager with School & Library sales, including placing orders and preparing for key account meetings.
- Coordinate with various departments to gather relevant information, request and mail samples, and build Edelweiss collections for buyers.
- Summarize sales reports, maintain up-to-date Salesforce account records, and track orders.
- Manage marketing and publicity meetings, including creating agendas and collecting event details for company-wide emails.
- Contribute to seasonal marketing plan development and support Children's publicity efforts.
- Develop Marketing & Publicity PowerPoint presentations and handle associated mailings.
- Conduct influencer research and serve as an M&P point person in the NYC office.
Requirements
- Highly motivated individuals with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and effectively manage multiple responsibilities.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Canva is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Edelweiss preferred.
- Experience in fast-paced office environments and/or book publishing is beneficial.
Salary and Benefits
The anticipated salary range is $24.52 to $28.25 per hour, influenced by education, experience, skills, location, and internal factors. The position qualifies for a profit share plan.

Work Schedule
