Job description

Role overview

This position is part of the front office and is based on a fast-moving trading floor. The role supports institutional and corporate clients while overseeing the electronic FX trading platform. As an Associate on the Currencies Emerging Markets Trading team, you will contribute to risk, liquidity, and exposure management, while handling pre-trade analysis, execution, and the structuring of effective risk strategies for larger trades. You will also monitor supply and demand, assess market shifts, propose practical solutions for clients, and coordinate with internal teams to support the launch of new products. The desk focuses mainly on fixed income and foreign exchange.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the electronic FX/NDFs/STIRT franchise, including pricing, risk oversight, and data analysis.
  • Handle day-to-day client queries and support their trading needs.
  • Interpret market drivers, price action, and the underlying numbers, including implications across asset classes.
  • Analyze business data and the factors influencing revenue generation.
  • Build strong knowledge of the relevant markets and gain client confidence in trade execution.
  • Apply the firm's risk management approach, policies, and the relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications and experience

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related discipline. The role requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in FX or EM FX within a trading-floor setting. Candidates should be comfortable working with risk concepts, explaining how different risks are managed through suitable strategies, and understanding the main drivers of the relevant markets well enough to anticipate moves. Strong communication skills are important, both in speaking and in written documentation, along with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and defend ideas clearly.

Preferred profile

Additional advantage will be given to candidates with experience in FX/NDF/STIRT electronic trading, strong Python capability, the ability to analyze data and present findings clearly, and a self-driven style with the confidence to work independently.
