Overview
Join our dynamic Credit Sales group based in Sydney, where you'll immerse yourself in a fast-moving trading floor environment. Collaborate closely with teams in Trading, Structuring, Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Syndicate, and Research to deliver integrated client services. This role focuses on nurturing and expanding investor relationships across Australia and New Zealand, supporting growth across both liquid and illiquid credit markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Trading, Structuring, DCM, Syndicate, and Research teams to provide holistic client coverage on a variety of credit products, spanning liquid and illiquid markets.
- Develop thorough knowledge of market factors influencing credit product execution in primary and secondary markets.
- Prepare for client engagements by formulating trade ideas, compiling market analyses, organizing follow-ups, and tracking ongoing outcomes.
- Facilitate trade execution processes by coordinating between internal units such as Trading, Syndicate, and Operations, ensuring timely and precise client service.
- Deliver prompt and attentive service to a diverse client base including asset managers, pension funds, banks, sovereign wealth funds, and hedge funds, escalating key issues to senior team members as needed.
- Maintain robust client and pipeline management systems including coverage notes, opportunity tracking, and meeting preparations.
- Identify new business prospects and assist in client onboarding efforts through targeted research and use of internal networks.
- Adhere strictly to the firm's risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Collaborate with Digital Sales teams on focused sales campaigns and client event execution.
- Partner with Pricing and Index product teams to create and deliver client-focused pitches and updates.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least three years of relevant experience in credit sales, trading support, or related market functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a similar field.
- Solid understanding of credit instruments including loans, corporate bonds, RMBS/ABS, credit default swaps (CDS), credit indices, and repo transactions.
- Ability to analyze market drivers and interpret their implications clearly, with a keen desire to expand product knowledge continually.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a disciplined approach to process execution and quality control.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills suited for interacting with clients and internal stakeholders effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Proven capacity to develop trusting relationships by recognizing client needs and ensuring reliable follow-through.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with proactive engagement in business development and expanding the sales pipeline.
- Experience supporting client segments such as Asset Managers, Asset Owners, and ETF issuers is advantageous.
