Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a pivotal role in upholding the brand’s retail standards and delivering excellent customer service. As retail dynamics evolve, the store remains the primary point of interaction with customers, serving as a window into the brand’s identity. The Assistant Manager leads by example, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and motivating the team to embody the brand's values.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead store teams to drive sales, maximize profits, reduce losses, and maintain an exceptional customer experience alongside a visually appealing and well-kept store environment.
- Identify growth and improvement opportunities through teamwork and collaboration.
- Ensure adherence to corporate visual merchandising standards on the sales floor and in storage areas.
- Collaborate closely with the visual merchandising team to maintain clear communication and alignment between merchandising and store staff.
- Work with store management to capitalize on business opportunities and meet company objectives.
- Promote strong relationships internally and with customers, holding staff accountable for delivering outstanding, loyal customer service.
- Conduct daily and weekly store walkthroughs to assess product performance, pricing, staff service, and inventory status.
- Communicate sales drivers and obstacles to the Store Manager, develop strategies to improve performance, and implement visual presentation action plans.
- Analyze store reports and devise action plans for business enhancement.
- Support manpower planning including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring diverse store personnel.
- Assist in building bench strength and succession planning for key store positions.
- Participate in weekly management and staff meetings.
- Set clear sales goals and performance expectations for staff, provide feedback, and facilitate performance improvements.
- Ensure an exceptional customer journey and achieve high mystery shopper scores.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in supervisory or specialist roles within premium or luxury retail brands.
- Previous people management experience with skill in resolving conflicts and disagreements effectively.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to foster inclusivity and belonging within the team.
- Collaborative mindset that values team achievements and contributions.
