Key Responsibilities
- Drive the store toward or beyond targets for sales, KPIs, and profitability.
- Deliver a consistently strong customer experience that matches PUMA's brand standards.
- Help recruit staff, prevent manpower gaps, and build a capable team through training and development.
- Keep team members accountable through coaching, productivity discussions, recognition, and performance-related actions.
- Support the Store Manager with performance appraisal preparation and share timely, constructive feedback based on daily observation.
- Spend around 90% of working time on the shop floor, supporting customers and coaching employees.
- Oversee daily store activity and overall store performance, including participation in store openings and closures; travel may be needed.
- Take part in Store Manager meetings and off-site training sessions when required.
- Handle POS transactions accurately, including sales, exchanges, discounts, and refunds, while keeping system access aligned with retail policies and procedures.
- Review store performance using controllable KPIs such as CR, UPT, and ATV, and guide the team accordingly.
- Manage payroll and scheduling to support both profitability and service standards.
- Ensure training programs are completed and are effective.
- Monitor loss prevention efforts and operational compliance.
- Oversee inventory control, including stock counts and shrink targets.
- Follow all policies, procedures, core operational requirements, and key accountabilities.
- Maintain a safe, compliant environment for both employees and customers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a retail setting.
- At least 1 year of experience in a managerial or senior retail position.
- Strong skills in sales performance, profitability management, and KPI tracking.
- Ability to analyze customer profiles, buying patterns, and store performance.
- Experience with appraisals, coaching, and team development.
- Clear communication and leadership skills for managing store teams.
- Knowledge of payroll, scheduling, inventory management, and loss prevention.
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Ability to remain active on foot for extended periods and use speaking, hearing, near/far vision, depth perception, and field of vision effectively.
