Role Overview

The Assistant Store Leader for Product collaborates closely with the Store Leader to ensure smooth store operations, achieve business objectives, and vividly showcase products through compelling merchandising and purposeful customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the visual merchandising plan in conjunction with Store Leadership, guaranteeing product displays are stylish, unified, and aligned with SKIMS’s brand identity and goals.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach by enhancing floor layouts and product storytelling with innovation, inclusivity, and personalized styling to keep customer needs central.
  • Utilize product and store performance data to optimize merchandising strategies, highlight top-selling items, address underperformers, and adjust product placement to boost sales efficiency.
  • Maintain a well-zoned sales floor that promotes a pleasing shopping experience with consistent size availability and timely restocking, coordinating closely with back-of-house teams on product strategies.
  • Respond swiftly to emerging trends and business demands, empowering team members to update merchandising dynamically.
  • Ensure the store upholds operational excellence standards through cleanliness, organization, correct signage, and deliberate merchandising.
  • Oversee all product movements, visual alterations, and floor setups including mannequins, window displays, and promotional signage.
  • Lead and mentor the team on visual merchandising techniques, styling, product knowledge, and new campaign deployments.
  • Act as the store’s product specialist, cultivating a team proficient in confidently communicating product fit, features, and fabric benefits.
  • Coach team members in effective selling techniques, connecting product attributes authentically to customer requirements.
  • Encourage ongoing learning by providing feedback on visual presentation and styling, helping develop the team’s discernment of product placement.
  • Coordinate with headquarters visual merchandising and allocation teams to provide insights on assortment, product possibilities, and merchandising tools.
  • Manage visual merchandising resources and inventory, ensuring materials are functional, updated, and ready for daily use.
  • Demonstrate strong floor leadership during peak times by effectively directing team zoning, providing in-the-moment coaching, and maintaining pace, polish, and presence in customer service.
  • Support the achievement of store goals through close alignment with KPIs, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Collaborate with management to plan and execute product-centered events including launches, capsule collections, and marketing initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of high standards, constructive feedback, accountability, and joint ownership of the customer experience, inspiring both oneself and others.

Requirements

  • Between 2 to 4 years of retail leadership experience with a focus on visual merchandising, styling, or enhancing customer experience.
  • Demonstrable success in improving sales through informed merchandising and visual floor leadership.
  • Expertise in visual merchandising capable of producing impactful, attractive store displays.
  • Ability to keep abreast of industry trends and competitor strategies to guide merchandising and product placement decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate, coach, and guide teams toward achieving business targets.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate expectations, provide feedback, and handle challenges confidently.
  • Genuine passion for the SKIMS brand, embodying its values and customer service philosophy.
  • Physically able to stand and be active throughout the entire shift, accessible to customers at all times.
  • Capability to bend, reach, and stretch to handle products and regularly lift or move items up to 40 pounds during shifts.
  • Full-time availability with openness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to meet business needs.
  • Preference for candidates who do not aspire to be social media influencers.
