Assistant Psychologist - Participation and Parenting

Overview

The First Steps team offers an early intervention psychological community service targeting children and young people experiencing mild to moderate emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. The service caters to children of all age groups, coming from diverse backgrounds.

Due to the high volume of applications typically received, there is a cap on the number accepted; the application process will close once this limit is reached.

Key Responsibilities

• Support initiatives aimed at enhancing participation and engagement of service users, improving information dissemination, involvement, and community contribution to service design.
• Assist qualified professionals in organizing and co-leading group-based interventions.
• Help coordinate and manage the parenting program, including collaboration and planning activities with facilitators across the network.
• Contribute to resource development for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team, particularly focusing on parenting programs and service-user driven initiatives, including multimedia materials.
• Maintain databases related to the First Steps parenting program and service-user projects.
• Assist in the generation of monthly and annual performance reports.
• Manage personal workload under supervisory guidance and fulfill necessary administrative duties.
• Operate flexibly and collaboratively with clinical psychologists, multidisciplinary teams, and other agencies to support clinical activities and team objectives.
• Engage in research and professional development opportunities as directed by management.
