About the Role

A reputable real estate development firm with over 40 years of expertise in managing large-scale residential projects is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join their team for ground-up multifamily developments based in Syracuse, NY. This position involves close collaboration with Senior Project Managers and Superintendents to aid in coordination throughout all phases of construction from preconstruction to final turnover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in overseeing multifamily construction projects from start to finish.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and maintain project documentation.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and procurement processes.
  • Assist with subcontractor selection, contract administration, and vendor communications.
  • Engage in project meetings involving ownership, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to cost tracking, forecasting, and compiling monthly project reports.
  • Coordinate with field personnel to ensure construction is progressing safely, timely, and with high quality standards.
  • Help with project closeout tasks including punch list management and turnover activities.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Between 2 to 5 years of experience in roles such as Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or similar in construction management.
  • Experience with ground-up multifamily, residential, or commercial construction projects.
  • Proficient understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and project documentation methods.
  • Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or Microsoft Project is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational capabilities, communication skills, and problem-solving aptitude.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred.
