Role overview
Maple Reinders is seeking an Assistant Project Coordinator/Co-op Student to support its project management and site supervision teams on civil construction work. In this role, you will help keep project records accurate, assist with estimating, and contribute to budget and schedule preparation. The position offers exposure to a range of contract models, including Design-Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management.
This is a site-based opportunity in Pickering, Ontario at the Duffin Creek project. Because the project locations are not easily reached by public transit, access to a vehicle is required.
Term and schedule
The assignment is planned to begin in September 2026. An 8-month or 12-month term is preferred.
What you will support
The main objective of this role is to help the project team deliver work that meets contractual expectations, achieves strong quality standards, protects project profitability, and maintains a safe jobsite.
- Keep purchase order records, shop drawing and submittal trackers, and plan logs current and organized.
- Learn how suppliers and sub-trades are selected and how quotations are gathered.
- Help define and clarify scopes of work with subcontractors and vendors.
- Support ongoing jobsite safety efforts in line with legal requirements and the company’s health and safety policy.
- Attend site meetings and assist with closing out project deficiencies.
- Monitor supply inventory so materials arrive on time and can be tracked properly.
Candidate profile
Applicants should be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary program related to the field, such as Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering. Recent graduates from a related program who completed their studies in 2026 may also be considered.
Experience using Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel would be a plus.

Compensation for this role is listed at $21 to $26 per hour, with the exact rate depending on prior experience.
