Job description
Role overview
Maple Reinders is looking for an Assistant Project Coordinator / Co-op Student to support the delivery of civil construction projects. This placement is planned to begin in September 2026, and an 8-month or 12-month term is preferred.
In this position, you will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents on a range of civil jobs. Your main focus will be keeping contract records organized, helping with estimating, and contributing to budget and schedule preparation. You will also get exposure to several contract models, including Design-Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management.
Please note that a vehicle is required, as project locations are not easily reachable by public transit.
Key objectives
The purpose of this role is to help the project team deliver profitable work in line with contract requirements, maintain high-quality standards, and support a safe work environment on site.
Responsibilities
- Keep purchase order records, shop drawing logs, submittal logs, and plan logs current and accurate.
- Learn how suppliers and sub-trades are sourced and how quotations are collected.
- Support discussions with sub-trades and suppliers to clarify the scope of work where needed.
- Help reinforce site safety practices in line with legal requirements and the company’s health and safety policy.
- Attend site meetings and assist with closing out project deficiencies.
- Monitor supplies, maintain inventory tracking, and help ensure materials arrive when needed.
Requirements
- You must be a full-time student in a relevant post-secondary program such as Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.
- Alternatively, recent graduates from a related program who completed their studies in 2026 may also be considered.
- Prior exposure to Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel will be considered an advantage.
- A vehicle is required to travel to project sites.

Compensation and location
The pay rate is $21 to $26 per hour, depending on previous experience. The role is based in a combination of office and site work in Mississauga, with project sites located in Guelph and York Region.
