Job description

Position Summary

This role involves teaching an introductory business course that helps students build a strong first understanding of business fundamentals, major principles, and possible career directions. The instructor is expected to connect academic learning with modern workplace practice and support students as they begin their studies in the field.

Instruction and Teaching Delivery

  • Lead introductory business subjects such as Introduction to Business Concepts, Principles of Management, and Business in a Global Context.
  • Use case studies, industry illustrations, and practical problem-solving to make lessons more engaging and relevant.
  • Help students understand what the business field covers, where the industry is heading, and the career options available to them.

Curriculum Development and Planning

  • Contribute to curriculum design and ongoing program enhancement.
  • Prepare lesson plans that match course goals, academic standards for the discipline, and institutional expectations.

Student Guidance and Learning Environment

  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, analytical thinking, and active participation in the subject.
  • Support students through office hours, academic advising, guidance on major choice, and pastoral support.

Assessment and Feedback

  • Evaluate student learning using both ongoing and final assessment methods.
  • Offer practical feedback that strengthens understanding and builds learner confidence in the subject.

Collaboration and Administration

  • Work with other business faculty to ensure course delivery aligns with program requirements and expected learning outcomes.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance and student progress.
  • Take part in department meetings and professional development sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or a closely connected field from an accredited university.
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching at university level or equivalent professional experience in the subject area.
  • Strong command of core business concepts, along with awareness of current trends and developments in the discipline.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills, suitable for teaching in an English-medium setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience in international or English-medium academic programs.
  • Industry or professional experience in business-related practice.
  • Exposure to case-based, problem-based, or project-based teaching approaches.
