Assistant Merchandiser

Role Overview

We are inviting applications for the position of Assistant Merchandiser at a prominent retail fashion company. The role involves contributing to seasonal assortment strategies, product development, and various merchandising activities within a corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning seasonal assortments, selecting products, and organizing style information.
• Conduct market research and analyze competitors to uncover trends and customer insights.
• Oversee daily merchandising activities such as managing samples, tracking orders, preparing for meetings, and updating merchandising systems.
• Collaborate with teams including Design, Production, Planning, eCommerce, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising to implement assortment plans and product launches.
• Analyze sales data and generate reports to inform future seasonal strategies.
• Ensure product information is accurate and up to date in merchandising databases.
• Keep abreast of emerging fashion trends and shifting customer preferences to guide product decisions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Between zero to three years’ experience in retail merchandising, buying, or related areas.
• A bachelor's degree in business, retail merchandising, fashion merchandising, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable handling data and retail management systems.
• Excellent organizational capabilities with the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
• A strong sense of fashion coupled with an understanding of market trends.
• Analytical aptitude including familiarity with retail mathematics and sales performance metrics.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.
