Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive individual to join the National Heritage Board as an Assistant Manager/Manager for International and Museum Relations. This role involves fostering robust and mutually beneficial partnerships that advance NHB's international engagements and bolster heritage capabilities. Additionally, the role supports the development and promotion of a vibrant museum culture among Singaporeans, acting as the Secretariat for the Museum Roundtable—a consortium comprising over 60 public and private museums across Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent and advocate NHB's policy interests at significant international and regional platforms involving governments and international organizations.
- Coordinate collaborative partnerships and projects with key international stakeholders of NHB.
- Manage policy positions, organize briefings, meetings, and official trips aligned with these objectives.
- Design and execute strategies aimed at enhancing the Museum Roundtable members' capabilities, overseeing capability development programs and public outreach efforts.
- Conduct secondary research to inform impactful initiatives benefiting Singapore's wider museum sector.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Monitor and analyze the evolving dynamics between NHB and its international and domestic stakeholders, including governments, international organizations, and museums.
- Comprehend stakeholder interests and concerns, understanding their implications for NHB's mission.
- Engage stakeholders effectively to advance NHB's objectives with tailored approaches and messaging designed for desired results.
- Lead comprehensive planning and execution of projects from conceptualization through to completion.
- Assess potential risks and implement detailed mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Oversee end-to-end administrative and operational processes, including funding management, logistics coordination, and tracking outcomes.
Additional Qualifications and Attributes
- Preferably possess between 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Exhibit critical and strategic thinking abilities in communication and decision-making.
- Proficient in numerical data analysis.
- Demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and exceptional multitasking capabilities.
- Strong team collaborator capable of driving cross-divisional or inter-agency initiatives.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours as required and to travel internationally.
- Have a keen interest in current affairs and international developments.
- Prior experience within the Singapore public sector, particularly with portfolios related to international relations or stakeholder engagement, is advantageous.
- Experience managing grants is a plus.
Contract Details
The position is offered on a 2-year contractual basis initially.
