About the Role
Join the Asia Oceania trade team at the global headquarters in Singapore, where the focus is on improving service performance, strengthening profitability, and responding effectively to operational disruptions. This position involves market analysis, service planning, and cross-functional coordination to support the commercial performance of vessel loops.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed market studies and data-based analysis to shape new services that balance strong profitability with reliable vessel schedule performance.
- Drive enhancements to existing loops to improve commercial returns and on-time vessel performance.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to build response strategies and reduce commercial losses when schedules slip or other issues arise.
- Monitor profit and loss patterns closely, pinpoint the reasons for variances against targets and forecasts, and take corrective action where needed.
- Keep service details updated on the company website and prepare Customer Advisory communications when requested by the Marketing team.
- Produce internal documents within required deadlines.
- For the Manager level, mentor junior team members and set an example through day-to-day guidance and training.
Requirements
- A degree in a relevant discipline.
- 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in liner shipping or a comparable operational environment.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent ability to research, consolidate information, and work with numbers and analytics.
- A proactive approach to finding opportunities for process improvement and technology adoption.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills for effective collaboration across functions.
- Ability to encourage teamwork, accountability, and a cooperative working culture.
- Experience in sales or front-office operations within a container shipping company will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with AI is considered a plus.
