Job description
Role overview
We are seeking a driven, service-focused professional to lead technology initiatives and ensure strong IT operations for the airport. This position covers planning, requirement gathering, technical evaluation, project delivery, deployment, and ongoing management of airport IT solutions.
What you will do
- Shape the system roadmap and translate it into practical implementation plans.
- Partner with internal and external airport stakeholders to build project business cases, including return on investment and customer service impact.
- Collaborate with technical teams and guide vendors in proposing end-to-end technical solutions, along with KPIs to track delivery success.
- Oversee project and change management so that delivered solutions satisfy technical, functional, performance, and business needs.
- Lead round-the-clock operations, maintenance, compliance, and renewal activities for airport IT systems that support airport operations.
- Manage the performance of both on-premises and cloud-hosted systems to maintain efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Review, improve, and streamline business and IT processes as part of continuous improvement efforts.
Working style and collaboration
The role calls for someone who can work well in a team and also take the lead when required. Strong interpersonal skills are important, as you will be expected to collaborate closely with the airport community and vendor partners to align on shared goals and outcomes.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in relevant technical domains and industry settings.
- Hands-on competence in cloud services, networking, and server environments.
- IT Service Management and IT Project Management certifications such as CITPM, PMP, or PRINCE2 are preferred.
- Strong analytical ability to assess risks, spot potential threats, and prepare mitigation actions.
- Good organisational, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with contractors on implementation, maintenance, and support activities.
- Awareness of current and emerging cybersecurity risks is important for this position.
- A strong sense of ownership, team spirit, and the ability to identify and solve problems effectively.
Additional information
This position involves managing vendor relationships and driving a shared vision and values with outsourced partners to achieve operational outcomes. The successful candidate will also be expected to support airport IT environments that operate continuously, including compliance and system renewal responsibilities.
