Overview
The Assistant Manager (Technical Writer) within the Entertainment Technical division is responsible for creating and revising operational, safety, and training documentation. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors, this position ensures that documentation remains clear, user-friendly, and complies with the standards needed for regulatory submissions, project bids, and safety compliance frameworks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and establish new standard operating procedures (SOPs), covering both critical and routine functions across all Entertainment Technical teams.
- Partner with respective teams and vendors to ensure existing SOPs are easy to understand and implement.
- Regularly update and maintain all operational, safety, and training documents relevant to the department.
- Propose enhancements, modifications, or elimination of key documents to streamline and clarify operational workflows.
- Formulate administrative standards and processes that promote improved record-keeping, standardized training protocols, consistent operations, and safety documentation.
- Collaborate in compiling documentation required for submissions to local authorities, project tenders, and safety compliance organizations.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a related field.
- At least two years of relevant operational experience involving compliance with technical or procedural documentation.
- Experience in creating or developing training materials or similar fields such as project or product development is advantageous.
Technical Skills and Attributes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Microsoft Word formatting tools like styles, tabs, templates, tables of contents, and graphic integration.
- Competence in Microsoft Excel formatting features.
- Ability to design diagrams using Microsoft PowerPoint drawing tools.
- Skilled at interpreting instructions in varied formats, including written, oral, diagrams, and schedules.
- Adept at producing precise, scaled drawings adhering to standards for line weights, typography, and measurement units.
- Organizational skills relating to systematic drawing management, including naming protocols and revision tracking.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD is an added benefit.
- Flexibility to work shifts, inclusive of weekends and public holidays.
